Knud Rosenmay JDPSN, the guiding teacher of the Vienna Zen Center, is featured in a talk with host Ian White Maher in the podcast “Sit, Breathe, Bow”.
We are constantly trying to distract ourselves from our busy day or an uncomfortable reality. But if we don’t make anything or distract ourselves, then our lives are not a problem.
Knud Rosenmayr, JDPSN, traveled Asia when he was 20 and first experienced Zen meditation in Korea. The next year, he met Zen Master Seung Sahn and began to deepen his meditation practice in the Kwan Um School of Zen. After returning to Europe, he practiced in other Zen traditions, but in 1999 he became the group leader of the Viennese Kwan Um Zen School. From 2013 to 2016, he was the abbot of the Vienna Zen Center. In 2016, he received inka, or permission to teach, from Zen Master Ji Kwang in Wu Bong Sa, Poland. Today he serves as the guiding teacher of the Vienna Zen Center and has been very active teaching in Hungary, Spain, Poland, and with the Online Sangha.
