Zen Day and Kido for Peace: Sunday, November 19 and
Basic cleaning of the Zen Center on Saturday morning, November 18

The Vienna Zen Center is rededicating the time originally reserved for a three-day retreat due to the current situation: We are expressing our sympathy for the fate of the people in the war zones of this world and the solidarity of our Zen Center with the global Kwan Um Sangha.

Sitting Zazen on the theme of peace means coming to terms with the reality of violence, aggression and conflict. We will observe that aggression also arises in ourselves again and again.
What can we do?

We also want to use Saturday morning to prepare: By doing some simple cleaning work together at the Zen Center, we will also informally strengthen our community and perhaps prepare (the Kido for) peace in this way.

Saturday, 18.11.2023, 9:30 am to 12 noon: We sit Zazen for an hour and do some clean-up work together in the Zen Center from 10:30 am. End: approx. 12 noon.

Sunday, November 19, 2023, 8:30 am to 16:00:
8:30: Gathering (punctually at the Zen Center)
09-10:00: Sunday morning practice (hybrid)
Afterward: Sitting and walking meditation until 12 noon
12-13:00 h: Informal “potluck” lunch: Please bring something delicious for the community!
13-14:00 h: Sitting meditation
14–16:00 h: Joint online participation in the Global KIDO for Peace
16:00 h: Closing

Fee: € 40.- as a Dana
